A Zeetix encompasses a collection of information organized around spatial domain, which may be around a geographical location in a real geography or a virtual geography, and all human-made constructs on it. Another spatial domain may be a visualization of a specific biological pathway, containing annotation on potential drug targets, signal transduction cascades, disease pathways, biomarkers for diagnostic opportunities, or cellular localization for a metabolic pathway. Zeetix methods and systems enable the organization of information around a specific spatial domain. These methods and systems facilitate managing objects presented in visualization layers of a variety of spatial domains. The methods and systems may include methods and systems for associating an object with one or more spatial domains; presenting the object in a plurality of navigable visualization layers with dimensions that correspond to the dimensions of the spatial domain, the visualization layers having a navigation scheme for navigating within and among the visualization layers, wherein the visualization layers conform to a published application programming interface; assigning the object at least one attribute associated with a virtual property right in at least one spatial domain; and upon a user interaction with the object in the visualization layer, presenting information associated with the virtual property right(s) of the object.
