Emulsions are useful for imparting Water Resistance Gypsum products. The Emulsion of the invention include at least one Wax alkylphenol, a Hydrophilic and a metal Salt, preferably Magnesium sulphate.The Emulsion of the invention does not require the addition of a compound Starch and consequently Exhibit Greater stability even with higher Solid content when compared to the Emulsions of the prior art.Claim 1: a useful method to prepare an emulsion to provide Water resistance to a product of gypsum, which comprises the steps of (a) combine a mixture which comprises at least a First and a Second alkylphenol with a Wax mixture which comprises magnesium sulfate and Water, (b) com Combining the first and second mixing the mixture to form a mixture,(c) and homogenize the mixture.
