The manufacturing of plastic-based cellular structure for furniture, comprises extruding parallel lamellae of composition based plastic horizontally through a die having a front face (4) furnished with a parallel slots and insulating material on the surface, and injecting compressed gas and vacuum into the spaces lying between two lamellae or exiting the die in successive alternations and between two sizing units (8) having enough length for the plastic composition to remain molten (2). The two sides of the lamella are subjected to the action of the compressed gas and the vacuum, and vice versa during the next alternation to deform the lamellae and weld them together in pairs.
