A method for controlling a load with a predominantly inductive character, whereby to feed a phase of the above-mentioned load (3), use is made of at least two switched output voltages, coming from Uun or more power electronic converters (11 ,, 12, 34, 35, 36) with a given period of time for switching, modulation or sampling, characterized in that the waveforms of the respective output voltages are different or shifted in time, and that they are applied to the load (3) via a device which has been performed in the shape of a "differential mode" device (6), whereby during every complete above-mentioned period, at least une of the above-mentioned output voltages is kept constant and thus is not switched.
