Cultivation method for Agastache foeniculum, used to prepare essential oil for food, drink and pharmaceutical products, uses sandy clay soil and climate with specific temperature and humidity

The plants are cultivated in a soil with specific clay and sand contents, in a climate with a specific average temperature and relative humidity. A method for growing Agastache foeniculum involves cultivation in a clay-containing sandy soil comprising 50-90% clay and 10-50% sand, in a climate with an average temperature of 10-30 (15-24)[deg] C during at least two months per year, and a relative humidity of 35-90 (43-82)%. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) Preparation of an essential oil from Agastache foeniculum grown by this method, by hydrodistillation of the crude plant material; (ii) Essential oil prepared by this method; (iii) Hydrolate obtained from this hydrodistillation process; (iv) Syrup of Agastache foeniculum, comprising parts of the plant such as the flower, leaves and/or stem in the form of an infusion, a macerate or a decoct, added to a sugar-comprising substance; (v) Preparation of a honey using Agastache foeniculum, by seeding the plant at different intervals, preferably with a first batch in April, a second batch in May etc., so that plants are in bloom throughout the summer, the number of plants per beehive being at least 12000 (20000); (vi) Alcoholic extract of Agastache foeniculum grown by this method; and (vii) Plant extract of Agastache foeniculum grown by this method.
