A method for improving cognitive function in an individual suffering from or MCI is susceptible to Disease and other dementias, Alzheimer's Poker, which is homozygous for the apoE4 allele.It comprises the steps of: (i) placing the individual screening to determine that the individual is homozygous for the apoE4 allele; and (ii) adminsitrar after a safe and effective amount of an agonist of PPAR gamma to that individual.
