摘要
The invented biochemical detection of insect pest diapause is characterized in that tetrazolium salt aqueous solution is applied to flying muscles of mature insects, leaving the composition in dark for a period of at least 1 hour, and subsequently evaluating visually by photometry changes in color. When conducting test in off-road conditions the method is carried out so that 0.1 mol/L of tetrazolium salt aqueous solution is dropped on flying muscles of insects so as submerge tissue in the solution, the composition is let in dark for about one hour and subsequently change in color is evaluated visually. In case of quantitative determination in a laboratory, the muscles of the testing sample of the insect population are first prepared, homogenized and let in dark for a period of 1 hour to incubate thereof with a tetrazolium salt solution. Subsequently amount of formazanes in the solution is measured by photometry.
