A method for determining the age of sedimentary rock deposits comprising sampling of foraminifers, selection of investigation zone, fixing thereof, determination of the age of sedimentary rock deposits by stratigraphic scales, wherein for increasing accuracy of the age of sedimentary rock deposits a shell wall is selected as the selected zone in the foraminifer and the age is determined by the coefficient of fractal dimensionality determined after fixing the foraminifer selected zone.
