AN APPARATUS FOR LAPAROSCOPIC KNOTTING AND A NEW METHOD OF KNOTTING IN LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY

The invention provides for a new method of operating on a patient and an apparatus for lapparoscopic knotting, comprising a hollow, insulated tubular shaft one end of which is attached to a handle. The other end of the shaft has a tapering portion with restrainers and is adapted to receive various inserts conventionally used in laparoscopic surgery. This apparatus of the invention makes knotting, (for ligating and suturing) very simple and any pedicle/duct/vessel/similar tu bular structure (cystic artery/cystic duct/round ligament/uterine vessels/colic arteries etc. etc.) can be ligated easily before cutting it, with almost any suture material of the surgeons choice .The surgeon can ensure the tightness and surety of the knot with his own pull and control. There is no need to use clips or preformed loops .
