: Mosquitoes Cause the diseases like malaria, Tengu fever to the human beings. In Chennai city alone more than 50% cases are reported by the above diseases. Currently, Chemical based mosquito repellent products are very popular in India. They contain the toxic chemical of Prallothrin to the level of 1.6% w/w .Actually some 5 years before the level of this toxic chemical is 0.5% w/w only. Now the level has been increased to 1.6% w/w due to greater resistance of mosquitoes at this level. For the years to come, the level will be increased due to higher survival of mosquitoes. Hence it is necessary to develop a product based on herbal in nature. Works have been carried and a herbal based product is the out come. The major herbs / leaf powders used are as listed below.
