Bimolecular target identification and processes therein for developing anti epiieptogenic, disease-modifying and neuroprotective agents The invention relates to biomolecular target identification and processes therein for developing antiepileptogenic, disease-modifying and neuroprotective agents. In particular, the invention describes development of a fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster model of kindling for in vivo behavioral phenotype-based screening of antiepileptic, antiepileptogenic, disease-modifying and neuroprotective agents, defines whole genome micro array gene expression profiles of central nervous system in the model so developed, and identifies genes with potential to serve as biomolecular targets for developing drugs and biopharmaceuticals against epileptogencsis and associated conditions.
