A new method and device to do work using a conventional swing as a prime mover and connecting it to a transmission system thru a transmission device mounted on the prime mover directly (for harnessing bi-directional motion) or via a uni-directional bearing (for harnessing uni-directional motion) and connecting the prime mover directly to a mechanical load. A special transmission system harnesses rotation of the prime mover in both the directions by converting bi-directional rotation to uni-direction motion. The output of which can be used for driving mechanical or electrical load.
