The additive is for addition to a solution of a floor cleaner such as a disinfectant for imparting insect expellency to the floor at the time of cleaning the floor with the disinfectant. The present invention also relates to a floor cleaning solution containing the additive, a method of making a floor cleaning solution and a method of cleaning a floor and imparting insect expellency thereto.
