A NOVEL TEST RIG FOR VALIDATION OF ENGINE VALVE GUIDE SEALS AND METHOD OF TESTING THEREOF

This invention relates to test rig and method of testing for validation of engine valve guide seals. Said rig comprises of cylinder head assembly, cylinder head cover, inlet & exhaust manifolds, cylinder block with closed bottom end having provision for oil collection, crank shaft, valve train, provision for fitment of weighing paper, oil collection unit, oil sump, oil pump, oil measuring tubes, prime mover, electric heater, mounting bracket. Said cylinder head assembly further comprises of valves, valve guides, valve guide seals, valve spring, and inlet and exhaust ports. Said valve train further comprises of cam shaft, tappet, push rod and rocker arm. Wherein said cylinder block is mounted on mounting bracket and the bottom of said cylinder block is closed with the provision for oil collection. Said cylinder head assembly is mounted on cylinder block. Crankshaft, cam shaft, valve train, drive train & oil pump are fitted inside said cylinder block. Said cylinder head cover with inlet manifold having provision for boost pressure connection and exhaust manifold having provision for back pressure connection are mounted on cylinder head. Oil sump provided with electrical heater is mounted on modified cylinder block. Graduated oil measuring tubes are mounted on external mounting bracket.
