The invention relates to a process for the adsorption of chelated organomatallic compounds, in which the said compounds are placed in contact with alumina-based beads produced by forming by agglomeration of an alumina powder using a rotational technique and exhibiting a volume of pores of diameter greater than 100 A of at least 0.10 cm3/g, a volume of pores of diameter greater than 1 µm of at least 0.05 cm3/g and a diameter of not more than 4 mm. It also relates to alumina beads including a chelated organometallic compound.
