TITLE: A PROCESS FOR PREAPARING A POLY-PHARMACEUTICAL UNANI COMPOSITION FOR THE TREATMENT OF HYPERLIPIDEMIAS AND HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA. This invention relates to a process for preapring a poly-pharmaceutical composition for the treatmentof Hyperlipidemias and hypercholesterolemia comprising the following steps: - separately preparing extracts of the herbal ingredients Safoof Seer (Allium sativum, Linn), Safoof Chob Zard(Curcuma Longa, Linn), Badranjboya (Nepeta Hindostana) and Abhal (Juniperus communis, Linn), Lak Maghsool (Caterica Lacca) and Zeera Siyah (Cumin cyminum,Linn); - concentrating the said extacts and reducing them to powder by heating, - mixing the said powders namely 120-135 mg of Allium sativum, 40-60mg of Curcuma Longa, 115-135 mg of Nepeta hindostana, 0.5-1.5 mg of Juniperus communis Linn, 30-60 mg of Cateria Lacca and 50-100 mg of Cumin cyminum, Linn with 40-60mg of nicotinic acid (all in quantity by parts) - if desired adding 75-100mg of Ascorbic acid, - mixing the said powders with predetemined quantity of binders and excipients at room temperature, - homogenising the aforesaid mixture to ensure uniformity and therapeutic value of the composition.
