An arrangement for producing a spun thread from a sliver of staple fibers comprises a drafting unit as well as an airjet aggregate arranged downstream thereof. In order that on the one hand, the lifetime of the cots as well as of the running aprons of the drafting unit can be extended and on the other hand, to ensure that the fibers always enter the entry opening of the airjet aggregate in the same way, a traverse device is provided, which is connected to the condensers arranged to the drafting unit and also with the airjet aggregate via a drive mechanism.
