A front muffler to discharge exhaust gases is disclosed. The front muffler has internal pipes which communicate with the exhaust manifold of an engine; a communication member to connect the internal pipes (22) to each other; and an external plate (20) which forms an air gap around outer surfaces of both the internal pipes and the communication member. The communication member has a first and second Y-plates (23a, 23b), which have respective partition walls (24a, 24b) and are placed in upper and lower positions and are assembled with each other. The first and second Y-plates (23a, 23b) are mounted at front ends thereof to the internal pipes (22) and being combined together at rear parts thereof. The air gap, formed in the front muffler, retains the warmth of exhaust gases and reduces the time required to activate the catalytic converter. The partition wall attenuates the operational noise of the engine and increases engine output.
