This invention relates to an improved monopolar cautery for trans-oral surgery for cranio vertebral junction anomalies (CVJA) comprising of : a handle member of a conducting material with an insulation sheathing thereon; a tip member of a conducting material integrally formed with said handle member having an insulation sheathing with the cutting edge of the tip member being exposed; the posterior of said handle member has a connecting element for connecting the cautery to a cautery head.
