The present invention refers to a water heater having a high heating efficiency and a low energy consumption, which is characterised in that it comprises an upper chamber for storing water arranged at the upper end portion of an outer hollow cylindrical-shaped body; a duct for the hot water outlet as well as a safety valve; a lower chamber for storing water arranged at the lower end portion of the outer hollow cylindrical-shaped body over the bottom thereof including a duct connected to said chamber for supplying cold water; a duct for transporting heat is centrally housed at the inner portion of the outer hollow cylindrical-shaped body, the same being connected at the bottom lower end portion thereof and crossed through the lower chamber, the upper end portion of the duct being separate from the lower surface of the upper chamber; a plurality of high temperature collecting ducts for connecting the lower chamber to the upper chamber are included for heating water from the upper chambe r; a low temperature exhausting cylinder of the chimney-type is connected to the upper closed end portion of the outer hollow cylindrical-shaped body, the cylinder crossing the upper chamber and protruding close to the lower end portion of the cylindrical body is useful for exhausting combustion gases.
