The invention relates to a method of obtaining water from an atmospheric air mass. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: creating an airflow and circulating same through the secondary of an exchanger element in order to precool same, with or without the initiation of the water vapour phase change; subjecting the precooled airflow to a cooling process that can lower the temperature thereof at least to below the dew point in order to generate the water vapour phase change or to continue said phase change when it has already commenced during the above-mentioned precooling step; collecting the condensed and/or frozen water; and recirculating the desiccated, cooled discharge airflow through the primary of the exchanger in order to use the residual cold therein for precooling.
