The invention relates to a device for the recovery of oil and/or coolant from installations comprising a refrigeration cycle, of the type that comprises means for connecting to the installation, means for expanding a refrigerant substance originating from the installation, means for evaporating the substance, means for separating lubricant from the substance, and means for compressing the substance after it has passed through the separation means. The invention is characterised in that the compression means comprise a rotary-type compressor and the evaporation means can obtain heat for evaporation from a heat exchanger that is intended to cool the compressor. The invention also relates to a method of operating said device.
