Method is for feeding veal calves appropriately housed and involves silage product and segregated maize granules. The animals are acquired at the age of one week and fed for 30 weeks. The fodder is fed respectively into first (1) and second (2) feed containers from which it is simultaneously fed into a feed channel for the calves to consume. The first feed container comprises a storage container (4) and a driven jack-screw (5) to move fodder outwards via an outflow aperture (6). The silage product can be brought into the storage container via the open upper side of the main container. The main first container is provided with a coupling frame (7), with which the first and second feed containers can be coupled to a drawer or lifting machine (8). The second feed container comprises a storage container (9) divided into two funnel-shaped compartments, in the floors of which are apertures, via which maize granules gain access to cylindrical chambers in which are screw-jacks, driven by electric motors. The speed of each motor is adjustable. The screw-jacks move the granules sideways to drop pipes, from which they drop into outflow apertures. The situation of the drop pipes is such that the granules fall on top of the silage product.
