The underlay body (3) comprises at least one wall (6) defining a chamber (7) which is tapered in the upward direction and which is in open communication with the artificial stone. The chamber is at least partly filled with the stone and creates closure between the tile layer (2) and body. The upper tile layer comprises a hardened artificial stone material. The profile body is at least partly embedded in the stone. An independent claim is also included for a method for making the tile assembly, comprising casting the stone material into a mold, embedding the underlay body into the material so that the tapered chamber becomes at least partly filled with this material, and allowing the material to harden.
