In a process to manufacture chipboard with a surface coating that will not accumulate foreign bodies or particles, the chipboard is coated with a laminate whose outer surface incorporates an organic silicon (e.g. silane) mixture. Also claimed is a chipboard, orientated strand board, medium-density fibreboard or high-density fibreboard, plastic core board or similar with a commensurate outer layer applied e.g. as a spray.
