METHOD FOR FIXATION OF MESH EXPLANT THROUGH ABDOMINAL WALL THICKNESS IN SURGICAL TREATMENT OF POSTOPERATIVE AND RECURRENT VENTRAL HERNIAS

A method for fixation of the mesh explant through the thickness of the abdominal wall in the surgical treatment of the postoperative and recurrent ventral hernias comprises the mobilization of the hernial gates, the plastic closure of the wound with the explant fixing subaponeurotically and preperitoneally to the edges of the hernial gates. Through the separate skin incisions, the explant is fixed by the single sutures. The aponeurosis is mobilized from the peritoneum sparing the contact with the subcutaneous fat. The monofilament sutures are used for fixing the explant. Both ends of the suture pass out through the muscular thickness over the aponeurosis and are tied up into the knot followed by piercing them out over the skin and tying them up through the cuff.
