METHOD FOR PREDICTING CEREBROVASCULAR ACCIDENTS IN PATIENTS WITH CALCULOUS CHOLECYSTITIS AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY

A method for predicting the cerebrovascular accidents in the patients with the calculous cholecystitis after laparoscopic cholecystectomy provides for measuring the linear blood flow rate in the common carotid artery prior to the increase and after the normalization of the intra-abdominal pressure. Moreover, the linear blood flow rate is measured in the internal carotid, vertebral, orbital, anterior, middle and posterior basilar arteries of the brain as well as in the internal jugular artery. The pulsation index, the index of the circulatory vascular resistance, the index of the spectral vascular dilatation in the common and internal carotid arteries, the vertebral and orbital arteries are measured. All these parameters are measured prior to the laparoscopic cholecystectomy and early post operation. The increase or the decrease of the corresponding values after the laparoscopic cholecystectomy suggests the probability of the postoperative cerebrovascular accident. The method is useful for preventing the severe postoperative cerebral hemodynamic complications.
