The invention relates to mining and can be used for prophylactics of spontaneous heating and spontaneous ignition of coal in difficult for access places, like zones of geological distortions of coal seams. Method for prevention of coal spontaneous ignition in coal seam provides extraction of rocks and coal, arrangement of fixation and drilling blast holes. Blast holes are filled with mix of milled coal and ferrous metal, and after that one supplies to blast holes solution of sodium chloride with concentration 300-320 g/l. At that one supplies to blast hole mix of coal and ferrous metal milled to dimensions not larger than 10-12 mm, at following ingredient ratio, mass %: 10-20 coal, 80-90 ferrous metal. Reliable and effective prophylactic of spontaneous fires is provided at new cracks coming to existence near mine working under effect of rock pressure.
