The aircraft has two hollow cylindrically constructed lift units (2-5) fitted on the fuselage (1) and having a number of rotor blades extending over the circumference of the lift units. The circumference of the lift units is covered at least partially by at least one control surface. The lift units are powered by at least one propulsion unit and each have a cylinder axis which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft. The control surface is formed at least partially by an outer surface of the fuselage.
