Earth fault distance locating method for earth fault-compensated, operated three-phase-electrical power network, involves calculating distance to earth fault based on phase voltage under consideration of earth impedance
The method involves measuring and monitoring current and voltage constantly at a measuring point in a phase. Distance to an earth fault is calculated based on the measured phase voltage at the measuring point under consideration of earth impedance at the measuring point and at a fault location. The distance is calculated during exceeding of a given threshold value of a biasing voltage and during lowering of a minimum voltage of a phase conductor by the current and voltage measurements of a conductor resistance in the phase conductor up to the earth fault position.
