摘要

Device that detects the moment and position of an impact or collision in a mechanical structure by measuring the time difference between the signals produced by a set of piezoelectric sensors strategically distributed on the structure. Using the phenomenon of the propagation of an acoustic wave through the material of the structure when an impact occurs on it, and considering that the speed of propagation of the wave is constant in an isotropic material, the proposed device can determine the moment and place of impact. The determination is made by measuring the difference in the arrival times of the acoustic wave to the different piezoelectric sensors by means of an electronic circuit and knowing the position of each of the sensors placed in the structure.
