Method, comprising the following steps: a) it is achieved that a cellular module (11) responds to a cellular communication signal that signals a time indication, by providing an activation pulse obtained from the data component of the signal cellular communication, and also by providing information that indicates a time stamp that relates the activation impulse to a universal time; b) it is achieved that a main module (12), with access to a clock (18) that provides a signal indicating the local time, responds to the information indicated by the time stamp; c) the activation pulse is communicated directly to a timing register (19) coupled to the main module (12), the communication being carried out through a special hardware path (23) that provides the activation pulse without any substantial random delay ; d) it is achieved that the timing register (19) responds to the signal that indicates the local time, and also responds to the activation pulse, by containing information indicating, in local time, when the activation pulse is received by the timing register (19); and e) it is achieved that the main module (12) accesses the timing register (19) and therefore obtains the time in which the activation arrives, and it is also achieved that the main module (12) determines the difference between the moment at which the information that indicates the time stamp arrives and the moment at which the activation arrives.
