In one embodiment, this invention provides methods for treating cancer in mammals or hyperproliferative cells, said method comprising contacting said cells with a tumor suppressor protein or a tumor suppressing nucleic acid and also contacting said cell with at least one adjuvant cancer agent. The invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a tumor suppressor protein or a tumor suppressor nucleic acid and at least one adjuvant cancer agent, and a kit for the treatment of cancer or hyperproliferative cells in a mammal.
