A method for simplified replacement of a SIM card for users of a mobile communication network digital, in which the user has an old active SIM card and a new SIM card inactive for operation in a mobile terminal, where appropriate activation the new SIM card (8) and deactivation of the old SIM card is carried on a dialogue with the user (10) by a migration server (12) connected to the mobile communication network (11), characterized by the steps : issuing a notification from a predetermined mobile terminal (10) to the migration server (12) using the old SIM card content; activation of the new SIM card (8) by the migration server (12); notification to the user (10) that the new SIM card (8) can be replaced by the former; replacement of the SIM card (8) in the mobile terminal; and deactivation of the old SIM card by the migration server (12) as the user is identified for the first time with the new SIM card (8) in the mobile communication network (11).
