Antigen which binds to an anti- Legionella spp.antibody, the antigen comprises the ribosomal protein S3 of the subunit 30S, ribosomal protein S4 of the subunit 30S and the elongation factor Tu, is new. Independent claims are: (1) a procedure for obtaining an antigen which binds to an anti- Legionella spp.antibody; and (2) a procedure for detecting Legionella spp.in a biological sample using an anti- Legionellapolyclonal antibody comprises the following stages: (a) previous treatment of the biological sample, (b) contacting the treated biological sample with an anti- Legionellaantibody, and (c) detecting the antigen-antibody compound.
