A method of administering an aseptic sterilization process to pumpable food products low acid containing a liquid portion and discrete particles comprising a particle portion; the method characterized by: (a) controlling the aseptic sterilization process to perform aseptic sterilization of food products according to scheduled parameters determined in a validated model based, at least in part, on the physical properties of the food product being sterilized; (B) verifying at least one of the scheduled parameters during the sterilization process; (C) determining when a deviation occurs in one of the specific parameters verified; (D) if a deviation occurs, identifying the portion of the food product associated with such deviation; and (e) separating the identified portion of the food product the remainder.
