This invention relates to a method and an apparatusfor reduction of flow resistance in pipes and ductswhere a fluid or a powder is flowing in single ormultiphase. In the method, the flow resistance isreduced by applying an electrical field on the pipeor duct wall. Also, the strength of the field isregulated according to measurements of the flowregime before and after the unit which exposes thefluid or powder to the electrical field. The fluidmay be a pure fluid, colloidal fluid or containinclusions in the form of particles.
