A BIOFOULING MONITOR AND METHODS TO MONITOR OR DETECT BIOFOULING

A biofouling monitor is described which has a column having an inlet and anoutlet; a microorganism nutrient feed line locatedupstream of the inlet; and a first pressure sensor located upstream of theinlet for measuring flow pressure and a second pressure systemlocated downstream of the outlet for measuring flow pressure. Also describedis a biofouling monitor which further has a recirculationsystem and optionally inert packing material located in the column. A methodto monitor or detect biofouling ahead of time in an aqueoussystem is further disclosed.
