Especially, the method, system and network entity for negotiating about version of conversation description protocol (VCDP) consummates procedure for negotiating VCDP supported by both parties of communication. Specially, in application under H.248 protocol, using expansion of a parameter of attribute implements negotiating procedure between the media gateway controller (MGC) and the media gateway (MG) expediently. Moreover, the disclosed method, system and network entity for obtaining information of VCDP implements that one party of communication obtains information of VCDP supported by the other party of communication. Specially, in application under H.248 protocol, using expansion of a parameter of attribute implements that MGC obtains information of VCDP supported by MG expediently.
