The present invention relates to a device for the absorption of vibration and sound of railroad tracks, in particular high speed railroad tracks, attached to concrete foundations, consisting of a shaped part 1 made of plastic, which is arranged as intermediate layer or intermediate plate between the rail and the foundation. The device according to the invention makes it possible to achieve a preferred customization of the shaped part in a simple manner for varying technical specifications, with good absorption of vibration and sound being achieved on one hand, but on the other hand also good resistance to deterioration and weathering. This is made possible by the fact that the shaped part 1 has a core 2 made of elastic material, which is surrounded by a coating 3 made from a dimensionally stable material.
