The present invention relates to a device for transforming a 2-D image into a 3-D image and a method thereof. The device of the present invention includes a feature pointing extracting unit, separating an area of a 2-D image and extracting a featuring point of the separated area; a camera movement recognizing unit, recognizing camera movement of the 2-D image; a movement parallax transforming unit, generating a disparity image of the 2-D image through movement parallax if the camera movement recognizing unit recognizes no camera movement; a scene structure estimation transforming unit, generating a disparity image of the 2-D image through scene structure estimation if the camera movement recognizing unit recognizes the camera movement; and an image combining unit, combining a 3-D image by using the disparity image generated by the movement parallax transforming unit or the scene structure estimation transforming unit.
