A method and system for processing R3 interface relocating in Wordwide interoperability for Microwave Access internet is disclosed, which reduces the total handoff delay of MS. In the present invention, when a terminal handoff between two access service network, source anchor network side sends information of the R3 interface relocating to target access service network; or the target service network directly obtain relocating information of the R3 interface from the anchor network side. The present invention provides also a system for processing the R3 interface relocating. The present invention utilizes interworking information in the handoff flow to take context information required the R3 interface relocating, so it is not necessary to interwork message alone for R3 interface relocating.
