AUTOMATIC COMPOSITION OF WEB SERVICES BASED ON SYNTACTIV AND SEMANTIC RULES

A system and method for web services composition are described. Web services composition includes receiving a request from a service consumer (16) and matching a plurality of web service descriptions stored in a data pool (12) to the request according to one or more semantic rules (202). The matched web service descriptions are filtered according to one or more syntactic rules (204). One or more composition plans are generated based on the filtered web service descriptions. A composite web service description is generated based on one of the one or more composition plans and delivered to the service consumer (16).
