WAVEGUIDE AND RESONATOR CAPABLE OF SUPPRESSING LOSSES DUE TO SKIN EFFECT

Provided is a waveguide and a resonator, which can suppress the losses of energy due to a skin effect. A conductor layer (35) is formed in a region between an outer tube (31) and an inner tube (32), which share a center axis (33) and are made of a conductor, and in the vicinity of the surface of the inner tube (32), and a spacer layer (or a space) (36) is formed between the surface of the inner tube (32) and the conductor layer (35). The spacer layer (36) is thicker at an end portion (35B) than at a center portion (35A) of the laminate of the spacer layer (36) and the conductor layer (35). The formation of that laminate makes it possible to suppress the loss of energy due to the skin effect. This effect becomes the more prominent as the difference in the thicknesses of the spacer layer (36) between the center portion (35A) and the end portion (35B).
