The invention concerns a hydrometallurgical processing of special waste materials (A) containing heavy metals and salts, in particular residues of effluent and household waste purification, comprising first a step which consists in wetting with water (1) (or with like aqueous liquid) added in proper amount required for producing after mixing a thick pulp (C), which is allowed to ripen by heat to form a consistent paste (D) by natural rheological transformation of the pulp after about thirty hours; then subjecting the resulting paste to washing operations (2) preferably with water, using advantageously liquid/solid weight ratios of at least 50/1 for the entire washing operation, preferably about 100/1, and in collecting the washed solid fraction (F) when it satisfies the desired requirements of harmlessness for the environment for its industrial upgrading, as class V clinker for use in particular in road engineering.
