INHIBITING JNK SIGNALING PROMOTES CNS AXON REGENERATION

Regeneration of a lesioned CNS axon of a mature neuron, determined to be subject to regeneration inhibition by endogenous cJun-N-terminal kinase (JNK), is promoted by contacting the neuron with an exogenous JNK inhibitor at a concentration sufficient to partially inhibit the JNK, and thereby promote a resultant regeneration of the axon.
