A method and device for filtering junk information based on network are provided. Wherein the method includes the following steps. By performing word-segmentation processing on object information, characteristic elements in the object information are obtained. According to a preset keyword library, the probability values corresponding to the characteristic elements of the object information are obtained. The keyword library is updated at regular intervals. The probability values of the characteristic elements of the object information are accumulated. And the result of accumulation is compared with a predetermined threshold. If the result ofaccumulation is larger than the predetermined threshold, the object information is determined to be junk information. In this way, the object information is verified by using the preset keyword library. Since the system resource consumption and time delay caused by large amounts of complicated calculation needed when verifying information in the prior art is avoided, the requirement of real-time junk information filtering is satisfied.
