BIAS CIRCUIT AND METHOD FOR BIASING A TRANSISTOR IN A CLASS C AMPLIFIER

A bias circuit for a transistor in a class C amplifier, the bias circuit comprising a class AB amplifier bias voltage generating means; a resistor connected to the class AB amplifier bias voltage generating means; and a current injection means connected between the class AB amplifier bias voltage generating means and the resistor; wherein in use, an injection of a pre-defined current from the current injection means into the resistor, causes a voltage to be subtracted from a voltage generated by the class AB amplifier bias voltage generating means, to achieve a desired class C amplifier bias voltage.
