The invention relates to enantiomerically enriched bidentate chiral ligands having formula (I) or the corresponding enantiomers thereof, having formula (I'), which form a bridge coordination with dicobalt hexacarbonyl complexes, particularly in a diastereoselective manner when the alkyne is monosubstituted or disubstituted with two different substituents. The invention also relates to a method for preparing said chiral ligands and to a method for preparing alkyne-dicobalt tetracarbonyl complexes. The resulting novel alkyne-dicobalt tetracarbonyl complexes can be used to perform the Pauson-Khand reaction in an enantioselective manner and with increased yields and, as a result, are suitable for use in the synthesis of biologically active and/or pharmaceutical cyclopentane products.
