METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING SET TOP BOX IN SERVICE GROUP IN SINGLE-WAY NETWORK VIDEO ON DEMAND SYSTEM

A method for identifying service groups by set-top-boxes in a single-way network video on demand system is disclosed. The method includes: 1) a background of a video on demand system sets Tsid for different service groups and said Tsid has a corresponding relation with the service group ID; 2) the set-top-box determines its service group ID based on said Tsid. The optimized way is that said step 1) concretely includes: 111) determining a fixed frequency point corresponding to the service group ID; 112) setting different Tsid on said fixed frequency point for each service group; in said step 2) the set-top-box determines the service group ID where it places according to the Tsid on said fixed frequency point. The optimized way is that in step 112), service group ID is applied directly as the Tsid of each service group on said fixed frequency point. By using the provided method, the set-top-box can obtain the service group ID, and process the setting, so improving the movement ability of the set-top-box in the single-way network.
